Obituary of Samuel H. McNeil

Samuel H. McNeil, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 1, 1925 he was the son of the late Samuel and Bessie Bryce McNeil. Sam was a US Marine Veteran having served from 1944 to 1947, spending time in Japan and Northern China. He retired from General Electric in Schenectady where he had worked for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and woodworker. He was always there for family, friends, and strangers to lend a helping hand. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Nancy Lennox McNeil of Greenwich; daughter, Kathleen (Gary) Rausch of Cinnaminson, NJ; son, Peter (Irish) McNeil of Chico, CA; several grandsons and great grandchildren. A committal service with military honors will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville at a later time to be announced.
