Obituary of Evelyn E. Irish

Evelyn E. Irish, 86, a resident of Green St., died peacefully Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs. Born June 28, 1928 in Johnsonville, NY she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lena Hafner Castle. Mrs. Irish had been employed for 25 years at Sherwood Medical in Argyle. She was a member of the Schuylerville United Methodist Church, enjoyed playing cards, and was a member, along with her husband of a bowling league at the former Roe’s Bowl in Greenwich. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 1 daughter, Geraldine Irish; 1 son, Ronald Irish; sisters, Florence Kohler, Marian Allen, Grace Pratt, Leona Castle; and brothers, Charles “Bud” Castle and Elwin Castle. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Napolean Irish of Schuylerville; children, Thomas (Patricia) Irish of Atlanta, GA, Stephen (Jerri) Irish of Victory Mills, Christopher (Kristi) Irish of Schuylerville, Paul (Liz) Irish of Saratoga Springs, Patricia (Otto) Anderhub of Pembroke Pines, FL; 2 sisters, Margaret Wood of Colorado and Betty Carknard of Valley Falls; 7 granddaughters, 2 great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 5pm Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Schuylerville United Methodist Church with a reception to follow in the church hall. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, July 30th from 4-7pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her memory to Schuylerville United Methodist Church.
