Obituary of Claude B. Duket
Claude B. Duket, 81, a resident of Clarks Mills Rd., passed away September 18, 2014 at his residence after a short illness.
Born December 24, 1932 in Clarks Mills, NY he was the son of Guy and Myrtle Duket.
Claude loved shooting at the range and spending time with his grandchildren. Every Saturday night he would go out to dinner with his son-in-law Matthew. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and had been employed at Hollingsworth and Vose Paper Mill for 32 years.
He was a life-time member of NRA and was also a member of Old Saratoga Post #278 American Legion in Schuylerville. He spent a lot of one-on-one time with his great grandson Cayden.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Cassie Duket, his daughter, Melody Sorg, and brothers, Earl and Harry Duket.
Survivors include his son Tim Duket and his companion Nancy of Glens Falls; son-in-law Matthew Sorg of Clarks Mills; grandchildren Stacey Cap of Schuylerville, John Blake of Stillwater, April Blake of Clarks Mills, Matt and Lee Ellen Duket of Fort Edward, and Pat (Alice) Duket of Queensbury; 14 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Jim Duket ; 3 sisters, Mary Reid, Shirley Powell, and Jeanie McDonald; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10am Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow at 11am at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
