Obituary of Bruce R. Ely

Bruce R. Ely, 66, of Greenwich passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2014. He was the second son of Gladys and Fred Ely. Bruce was a veteran of the United States Navy serving with the Seabees during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Wayne and William Ely. He is survived by his wife Coleen; son Michael Ely; stepsons Matthew (Carole) Kyer, Craig Kyer, Amanda Dearstyne and most special granddaughter, Alexis Kyer. He is also survived by his sisters Debra (Jerry) Houck and Rebecca Calvi, and is remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside service will be held at 10am Monday October 20, 2014 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Donations can be made in Bruce’s memory to the American Legion, 19 Abeel Ave., Greenwich, NY 12834.
