Obituary of Peter J. Hughes

Peter J. Hughes 65, of Greenwich passed away Saturday, October, 18, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born July 24, 1949 in Albany, NY, he was the son of Peter and Mary Hughes. Peter was a welding teacher at BOCES in Hudson Falls for over 30 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. Peter enjoyed working with his students and following their careers. He admired their many accomplishments. Peter was a loving father, grandfather, and loved his dog Sammy. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Rosemary Beck. Surviving are two sons, Peter (Carrie) Hughes of Greenwich; Dan Hughes of Greenwich; and 5 grandchildren Colin, Ryan, Patrick, Dillon and Danika Hughes. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Cahill officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
