Obituary of Clarence Philip Karmazyn

Clarence Philip Karmazyn, 90, beloved husband, better known as Phil, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital with the great team of Community Hospice Services. Born in Albany, NY he was the son of Paul and Veronica (Jensis) Karmazyn and Sophie Karmazyn who predeceased him, as well as his sister Mildred Salvagni and brother Edward P. Karmazyn. Phil was a member of the Holy Wisdom Parish at New Skete Monastery in Cambridge. He graduated from Philip Schuyler High School going immediately into the United States Air Force during WWII where he served honorably for 3 years. Phil enjoyed life fully, golfing, bowling, swimming and traveling with the love of his life, his wife Stephanie. Phil retired from Curtis Lumber Company as Sales Manager in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion Post #515. Phil is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Stephanie (Karpiak) Karmazyn who he married in 1947 at St. Basil's Orthodox Church; his sister Kay of Waterbury, CT; several nieces, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private at St. Basil's Cemetery in Watervliet, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to the New Skete Monastery, Box 128, Cambridge, NY 12816 or St. Basil's Church, 6 Lansing Ave., Watervliet, NY 12189.
