Obituary of Lawrence G. Charbonneau

Lawrence G. Charbonneau, 93, a resident of Saratoga Springs, died Friday, December 2, 2014 at Wesley Health Care Center. Born June 16, 1921 in Cohoes, NY he was the son of the late Nelson and Eva LaCombe Charbonneau. Mr. Charbonneau was a pilot with the US Air Force for 26 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1968. He served in the European Theater, Normandy, and received the Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal with 17 Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a resident of Cohoes before moving to Saratoga Springs. He was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville, and was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Blanche Fontaine Charbonneau in 1999, and 2 brothers, Francis and Leo Charbonneau Survivors include his children, David (Leslie) Charbonneau of Malta, Susan (Mike) Sullivan of Carthage, NC, Gary Charbonneau of Nassau, Dale (Debbie) Charbonneau of Wilton, and Craig (Lora) Charbonneau of Killeen, TX; 1 brother, Edward Charbonneau of Saratoga Springs; grandchildren, Brian Charbonneau, Janelle Shillito, Jennifer and Stacey Poitras, Kevin Charbonneau, Jeslyn Bell, Danielle Jourdan; 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am Friday, January 2, 2015 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow at 11am at the Saratoga National Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, January 1, 2014 from 2-5pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
