Obituary of Marjorie H. Martinovich

Marjorie H. Martinovich, 95, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Stanton Nursing Home in Queensbury surrounded by her family. Born April 13, 1920 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Julia Grande Henning. Marjorie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Saratoga Springs, the Quaker Springs Sunshiners Seniors, a former member of the Maplewood Cemetery Association and the Old Saratoga Reformed Church in Schuylerville where she had also been the choir director for many years, and a Sunday school teacher. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Martinovich in 2003. Survivors include her 2 daughers, Nancy (Harrison) Wertz and Laurie Groff of Saratoga Springs; 1 son, David (Sandy) Martinovich of Queensbury; grandchildren, Chad (Erin) Martinovich, Kerri (Andrew) Sphur, Eric (Melissa) Groff, Marcie (Scott) Trombino, Meghan Wertz; and great grandchildren, Haley and Tyler Martinovich, Emily and Katlin Sphur, and Seth and Caleb Trombino. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 149 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs. Friends may call from 10-11am prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery, Saratoga Springs. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Violet Fowler from St. Paul's Lutheran Church for her monthly spiritual care, and to the staff on the south wing at the Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care given to Marjorie. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials in Marjorie's name be made to the Old Saratoga Reformed Church "Camp Fowler", 48 Pearl St., Schuylerville, NY 12871 or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 149 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
