Obituary of Marie E. Peters

Marie E. Peters of Pearl St., Schuylerville passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 in the home she loved with her family by her side. She had just celebrated her 100th birthday on October 15, 2015. Marie was born and raised in Schuylerville and attended Schuylerville School. She worked at Clark Knitting and retired from Espey Manufacturing Co. She was a devoted communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne's Rosary Society. Her life centered around her faith and family. She was predeceased by her parents, Emilio and Rose Peters; brothers, James J. and John T. Peters; and sister-in-law, Mary Peters. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Olive Peters of Schenectady; nieces, Ann Marie Wright, Patricia J. Peters, Kathleen (Patrick) Cashman, and nephew, James (Sandra) Peters Jr.; 5 grand-nieces, 3 grand-nephews and their children who provided much enjoyment in her later years. The family would like to thank Jill Gradner, MD and Theo Laddis, MD for their years of compassionate care, the Eucharistic Ministers of Notre Dame-Visitation Church who visited Marie weekly and Father Martin Fisher. Also, Doreen DeLuca and Amanda Dring for their help when needed, and a very special thank you to Donna DeLuca for the loving care she gave Marie the last few years that enabled her to remain in her home. We are very appreciative to all the wonderful friends who contributed to her care. As per Marie's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Monday, November 2, 2015 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials can be made in her memory to the Notre Dame-Visitation Church Capital Campaign Fund, 18 Pearl St., Schuylerville, NY 12871.
