Obituary of Geraldine M. Buckley

Geraldine Titus Buckley, 86, of Easton, NY, passed away at Glens Falls Hospital on October 29, 2015. Born April 8, 1929 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Tuohy) McDermott. She was raised by her maternal grandmother Julia and grandfather Michael. After graduating from Textile High School, Geraldine married Howard Titus and they moved to her husband's hometown of Crown Point, NY, where they raised four girls. Geraldine had been a dental assistant, worked at the International Paper Co., the St. Frederick Hotel, was co-owner of a restaurant, and was well-known for making wedding cakes. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and painting. Upon her first husband's retirement, they moved to the Lake Charles, LA area, where they managed a condominium complex. Eventually retiring altogether, they moved to a home on a lake in Longville, LA. Geraldine was the area president of the Council for the Aging, a counselor at the Senior Center, and a very active member of the Longville Baptist Church. Upon the death of Howard, her husband of 54 years, Geraldine moved to Greenwich, NY, where she met and married Burdette Buckley, with whom she spent many happy days, especially rooting for the NY Mets together. They attended the Bottskill Baptist Church, which is where they met and which was an integral part of their lives. Geraldine was predeceased by her first husband Howard, half-brother John Jr., and her youngest daughter Theresa. She is survived by her husband Burdette; daughters, Barbara Titus of Glens Falls, NY, Julia (Stephen) Mazurowski of Wilton, NY, Karen (Terry) Ross of Crown Point, NY; her half-brother, Vincent of New York City; as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Bottskill Baptist Church, 32 Church St, Greenwich, NY, 12834 with Rev.
