Obituary of Joseph Leach Jr.

Joseph Leach Jr., 76, a resident of Route 4, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a long illness. Born January 21, 1939 in Albany, NY he was the son of the late Joseph and Genniveve Mazzone Leach Sr. Joseph was an Albany Fireman with Engine 3 in the City of Albany for 21 years. He saved many lives during his 21 years of service. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Louann Filer Leach of Greenwich; his stepdaughter, Susan Leach of PA; his oldest son, Joseph Leach of Fort Edward, David Leach of Cohoes, Genene Leach of PA, and Michael Leach of Greenwich; 2 sisters, Carol Leach and Rebecca Leach; 1 brother, Frederick Leach; several nieces and nephews, and his 2 dogs, Poncho and Tank. A graveside service will be held at 11am Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in the Greenwich Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorials can be made in his memory to Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich to help the family with funeral expenses.
