Obituary of Charles W. Jones

Charles W. Jones, 91, a resident of Patterson Rd., passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Saratoga Hospital after a long illness. Born July 2, 1924 in Barnard, VT he was the son of the late Martha Jones. Mr. Jones owned and operated his dairy farm on Patterson Road for many years. After retiring from the farm, he went to work at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds for 16 years. He was a member of the Hoosick Valley Fire Department and was a former President and member of the Fish Creek Rod and Gun Club for several years. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and coon hunting. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joyce Ketchum Jones; and 1 son, Charles R. (Ann) Jones, all of Schuylerville. A graveside service will be held at 2pm Friday, December 18, 2015 in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Schuylerville with Rev. Joyce deVelder, officiating. There will be no calling hours.
