Obituary of Dwight A. Cushing

Dwight A. Cushing, 95, a resident of Searles Ferry Rd. in the Town of Easton, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital. Born July 5, 1920 in New York City, NY he was the son of the late Henry and Deloris Romanones Cushing. Mr. Cushing was a Sgt. in US Army serving during WWII in Japan and the Philippines as a heavy equipment mechanic. He worked as an auto mechanic form many years, retiring from Carmody Ford in Greenwich at the age of 72. He enjoyed trains, steam engines and flying airplanes and had been a member of the Cambridge Valley Flying Club. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne McIntyre Cushing, February 15, 1990 and his brother, Henry Rauoul Cushing, April 29, 1979. Survivors include his daughter, Laura (Ron) Waldrop of Windsor Locks, CT; 3 sons, Thomas (Marie) Cushing of Middleboro, MA, Andrew Cushing of Melrose, NY, and Matthew (Jennifer) Cushing of Easton, NY; and 2 grandchildren, Christopher Cushing and Alexa Cushing. Friends may call from 4-6pm Friday, January 8, 2016 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Easton Rural Cemetery.
