Obituary of Andrea M. Petar

Andrea M. Petar (Ann, Mom, Gramma), 67, of Greenwich, NY passed away suddenly February 20, 2016 while wintering in Port Orange, Florida. Born September 2, 1948 at Saratoga Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Bain and Lottie Bain Fasoli. Andrea retired from Verizon in 1992 and managed M. Petar Contracting for the past 30 years. Her family, friends, so many customer-turned lifelong friends, and anyone who knew her were blessed with a caring, fun, charismatic, and thoughtful friend. She was selfless, and would help anyone in their time of need. She was a strong determined woman who cared so much about all those in her life. Andrea "Grammy" was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She adored and was very proud of her grandchildren. She was well known as a lover of great jokes and would print out to share with all who visited. She enjoyed reading, Nascar, country music, and camping. Her guilty pleasure was reality TV. She was also a great cook and so many thought she should have her own restaurant. She only wanted to cook for her family because she said she cooked the food with love. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Beatrice Bain. Mourning forever are her husband of 32 years, Maks Petar; daughter, Suzanne Yerden (Kevin); grandchildren, Kayla Norton and David Norton; siblings, Edwin Bain (Lavonne), Avery Bain (Lillian), Alice DuBois (Marvin), all of Greenwich, and Michael Bain (Fredda) of Arcadia, FL; nieces and nephews, Debra Bain, Melody Cormier (David), Tim Bain (Becky), Shirley Bain, Michelle McReynolds (Patrick), Stephen Bain, Matthew Bain (Jaala), Ryan Bain, Linda Farr (Jensen), Sonya Eckhardt (Eric), Scott Petar (Jennifer); many great nieces and nephews, and dear friends near and far. Friends may call from 2-4pm on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. Spring burial with a graveside service will be in the Gansevoort Cemetery, and announced at a later date. Memorials can be made in her memory to Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad, PO Box 84, Greenwich, NY 12834.
