Obituary of Dorothy A. Leone

Dorothy A. Leone, 86, a resident of West River Road, passed away Sunday. March 20, 2016 at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs. Born January 13, 1930 in Watertown, NY she was the daughter of the late Carl and Bernice McOmber Stumpf. Dorothy was raised by her Aunt Rose and cousins, Anne, Margaret, and Richard in Watertown. Mrs. Leone was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Glens Falls. She worked at GE in Fort Edward for 25 years. She was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church and a member of the Schuyler Hose Auxiliary. She loved going on Senior trips and having lunch once a month with her former GE co-workers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making the best apple pie. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hugo J. Leone and a daughter, Teresa Leone Bunner. Survivors include her children, Michael J. Leone of Greenwich, Emilia Longnecker of SC, and Peter (Diane) Leone of Queensbury; 4 grandchildren, Steve Bryant, Tess Eir Leone, Sarah Mullinax, and Zachary Gothard; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30am Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville. Burial will follow in the Saratoga National Cemetery.
