I offer Pam's family my prayers for healing and my deepest sympathy with her loss. As an artist friend and colleague, I am saddened by her loss. Pam brought an energy and light to those around her in the Guild of Adirondack Artists. Her enthusiasm for life is evidenced through her personal expression as an artist and a teacher. Mrs. Barker was someone who I looked up to dearly. She really had a passion for what she did and it shined through everyday I was in her classroom. From being in art club in seventh grade to being in her class for two years she really taught me what it was to be an artist. Lake George High School will not be the same without her smile and bright personality. Sending my deepest condolences to her family and friends. Never forget that she is watching over you all.

I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Barker. Not only do I remember art fondly from 7th and 8th grade and Mrs. Barker's ability to get even those of us with little to no artistic talent to make something we were proud of, but I got the honor years later to get to know her daughter through Crandall library and see Mrs. Barker regularly again. She always had a kind word and loved to know what I was doing, as well as all the other kids at the library. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her!

Pam's talent as an artist and her love of working with children shone through in all she did. She was a wonderful woman and will truly be missed. Arianna, you can hold your head up high knowing your mom loved you more than anything. I am praying for comfort and peace for you in this difficult time.

I am very sorry for your loss. She was such an amazing person and teacher of mine. I was in her class from 9th grade up to my senior year. She inspired me to be an art major, and never judged my artistic abilities. She never gave up on me. When I needed help she was always there to inspire me. We shared great ideas with one another. Ideas that only we would understand. We had a special connection that felt like more than just a student and a teacher. Because she had to much trust in my artistic abilities it helped me become more successful. I will always remember the art field trips we attended together, and I will always be thankful for her always believing in me. She helped me get into college with a letter of recommendation and I am very thankful I was able to spend 4 amazing years with her. There was never a dull moment. If we weren't working on art projects we were talking about artistic ideas. I'll miss her lots! Rest in peace.

Although I only knew her through other neighbors (I live down the street from her) and the Marathon Dance, It so saddened me to know that another young life has been taken too soon. My condolences to her daughter and the family. Please know there are people who care even though we didn't know her personally.

Mrs. Barker was an amazing teacher and a huge inspiration to me. If not for her, I never would have figured out what path I want to go on. She always inspired us to try different techniques and to try different mediums. That we could do it if we really tried instead of always doudting ourselves. I will miss her a lot but I will never forget her or what she has taught me.
