Obituary of Gerard Braim
Gerard F. "Jerry" Braim, 81, son of the late Harry Braim and Elizabeth (Sesselman) Braim, passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2017.
Born in Saratoga Springs on January 28, 1936, he attended school in the Saratoga Springs School District.
In his younger days he worked at the Van Raalte Company, then later at the Rome State School on Mt. McGregor and Wilton Developmental Center in the maintenance department until his retirement in 1996.
Jerry enjoyed being with his family and at simulcasting with his buddies. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family. He will always have a special place in our hearts.
Jerry was predeceased by his brothers, Harold, Jack "Blossom", and Robert "Bobo" Braim; sisters, Norine Leight, Mary Scranton, and Margaret "Marty" Braim; sister-in-law Margaret Braim; and brothers-in-law Richard Leight, Philip Bergquist, and Robert Mosher.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary (Robinson) Braim, 2 daughters, Carolyn (James) Kerwood of Hyde Park and Brenda (Michael) Lindstrand of Gansevoort, granddaughter, Toni Rourke and her fiancé Thomas Twiss of Fort Ann, NY; sisters-in-law Jean Mosher of Bend, OR and Rosalie Bergquist of Gansevoort; brother-in-law Richard (Susan) Robinson of Richmond, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 7pm Friday, April 14, 2017 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call on Friday from 6-7pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
