Obituary of Paul M. Vaughn

Paul M. Vaughn, 71, a longtime resident of Hudson Falls and more recently of Victory Mills, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his wife and family.

Born June 18, 1946 in Glens Falls, NY he was the son of the late Charles E. and J. Helen Vaughn.

Paul was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School Class of 1964.  He served with the US Navy from 1966-1969 and returned home to work for the NY Canal System.  He worked briefly as a bartender in the Glens Falls area and briefly ran the Gansevoort Hotel.  His career choice was with the US Post Office where he worked for 29 years as a Postal Clerk in Saratoga Springs.

He married Sandra Coffinger in 1979 and they resided in Hudson Falls “Hometown USA” for many years.  He was a member of the Glens Falls Elks Lodge #81 and the American Legion Post #574 in Hudson Falls.  He enjoyed playing cards and keeping in touch with friends and family.  He was proud of his three grandsons, and smart ‘lil puppy “Sadie”.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a stepson, Michael Lyon, and niece, Denise Stockwell.

Survivors include his wife Sandra Vaughn of Victory Mills; stepson Mark (Tracy) Lyon; their sons, Brad Lyon and Shane Lyon, and Michae’ls son, Jason Lyon; sister, Sharon Phillips of Glens Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30am Friday, August 25, 2017 in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, with Rev. Janet Vincent, officiating.
