Obituary of Jean Woelfersheim

Jean G.E. Woelfersheim, 80, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital after a struggle with an illness. Jean was born on July 21, 1937 in Albany, New York to the late Abraham and Nellie Ruechel.

Jean was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cake decorating.  She was the Scrabble Queen and loved playing canasta with friends and family.  She was a great swimmer and avid reader, she also loved camping and fishing. Jean volunteered at the Veteran’s hospital in Albany, and was a member of the V.F.W and Eagle’s club, and was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She loved researching genealogy. 

Jean married the love of her life Robert Albert Woelfersheim who passed away in 1980.

In addition to her parents and husband she is predeceased by her son Joseph Woelfersheim.

She is survived by her loving children Dineen Woelfersheim and Alisha (Chris) Porcello; stepchildren Laura Schilling (Ken) and Preston Woelfersheim; 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

There will be no prior calling hours.

A memorial service will be held at 11am October 7, 2017 at the Coila Church, 93 State Route 372, Cambridge, NY.
