I knew Mr. Worthington as my school teacher, when I attended 6th grade at the Greenwich Elementary School in 1971. My parents unnecessarily dragged me out of schools, from NC, Virginia, NY, then Colorado, whenever they felt like moving. I remember Mr. Worthington as a patient understanding man of wisdom when I transferred in the middle of the school year. He took time to show me curriculum I was unfamiliar with and waived areas of learning the other students were advanced of me, such as French. Being a new interstate student, I was never bullied by the other students because Mr. Worthington took time to introduce me and made me welcomed among the students. Out of the dozen public schools I attended throughout the country, Mr. Worthington was indeed the most impressionable. The world would be a much better place if there were more good human beings like Mr. Richard Worthington.
