Obituary of Lydia G Gentile

Lydia Gentile, age 87, of Schuylerville, began her journey to a better life with the Lord and her angels on Monday, February 17, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Frances Villa whom she loved more than life itself. She was also predeceased by her husbands, Albert J. Grolley and Vincent Gentile. She leaves behind her daughters, Patricia Forward of Saratoga Springs and Nancy Grolley of Freehold, NJ; her granddaughter and her most precious gift, Cydney Squires of Ballston Spa. Lydia lived in Schuylerville all her life and was employed in her early years at GE in Schenectady and Schuylerville Central High School. She was a friend to many and loved her social life and her happy hour. She has touched many lives in her 87 years and will truly be missed. To have the opportunity to know her and to be her friend was a most precious gift. She was the best mother not only to her daughters, but to all their friends as well. She was known as “Gram” to many and cherished her title. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9am Friday, February 21, 2014 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Spring burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorials can be made in her memory to Mary’s Haven, 35 New St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Many thanks to all her friends and family who were there to support her during her short battle with lung cancer.
