Kim came into my life when I was in 7th grade. He replaced another social studies teacher. He was born to be a teacher and mentor. He made learning fun and shared his excitement about learning with his students. For him learning was not what you read in a book, but rather it was holding historical items and visiting museums and sites where history happened. He took a special interest in students who were struggling or those who didn't have proper male role models. He loved everyone of the students who were on the track and cross country teams - we were one big family. I consider myself very fortunate to have had Kim in my life. Godspeed my friend.

The Heighton Family;
To Mr. Heighton's children your father was my mentor, teacher, cross country and track coach at Waterford Halfmoon High School. He gave me a purpose in life and taught so many. I am saddened to learn that he passed away so suddenly. He was a great man and will be missed by many. I will cherish his memory and the Track team reunion we had last summer 2015 with him. May his path to heaven be on the wings of Angels.

Dave (and family),
I am so sorry for your loss of Kim. I just found out about this today (29th) and regret that I did not get to the wake or funeral.
I played many enjoyable baseball games with Kim (you too, Dave). I've thought fondly about you guys throughout the many years since we've seen each other. I wish we could have gotten together over the years. Dave, I saw your father at a Babe Ruth tournament about 30 years or so ago. He still carried old scorebooks from our high school days. We had fun talking about "the good ole' days!".
Take care and God bless you and yours......Sincerely yours....Mike...
